Dress Ups

Played with some dress ups today in the forest. Initially, it was so I can take some snaps to use as inspiration for my paintings but we kind of got carried away. It was actually pretty exhausting and my lovely models are basically over it, but so unbelievably beautiful to photograph, thankyou! Can't wait to put brush to canvas now

liberty and what not

2nd attempt at oils. It's only on a sheet of canvas so If i'm remotely happy with it in the near future, I'll have to look into framing it. I tried experimenting with paper ripped from a story book pasted beneath the paint hoping maybe to have bits of the text show through. However, thought better of that and tried to rip it all out. So then it decided to go all rough amd gross on me in the back ground. I've learnt my lesson. But in saying that, i feel like everytime i put brush to paint to canvas, I'm improving, and its nice to know that. I haven't thought of a title either. . .

Another pixelated painting I'm working on. I'm over it so I'll be leaving it for a while :] I'm thinking of continuing to fill in more squares, particularly on the the right canvas. The tape I'm using to keep the lines straight is pathetic, it just bleeds right through. I've been working from a pixelated image of waves that I've manipulated on the computer. I might use some oil paints on it in larger spots to give it a bit of life.
Now seriously, homework is calling me.

Gladwrap technique

This was one of the techniques that particularly caught my eye at the abstract workshop. Firstly we lightly sprayed the small canvas with water and then we dripped a little acrylic ink over it. We then placed gladwrap over the whole canvas and scrunched it to form different shapes and placed it in the warm sun to dry. So easy, yet so effective! Although I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet. x

abstract?

My painting I made at the acrylic abstract painting workshop. We used view finders to capture spots of interests through photographs and then recreate these onto canvas. I worked from an out of focus palm tree and this was the result. The middle section, as directed by Tracey, is scraped through using a wax comb, genious! Not sure what I'll do with it yet, mum's quite happy for it to stay in the lounge room.

A lost Woman

My year 10 major work for art. It got accepted into a local youth exhibition where it picked up people's choice award. However, I am yet to sell it. The $25 book gift voucher just doesn't cut it.
